Sacraments

A sacrament is an outward expression of an inward grace given by God. Jesus instituted these sacraments to aid us in living out the Christian life. There are seven sacraments in the Catholic Faith: Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders, and Anointing of the Sick.

Each sacraments has two main part, matter and form. The matter are the things we see: the water, the wine, the stole that the priest wears, the white garments, the rings, the oil, etc. The form are the words that MUST be said for the sacrament to be valid.

To celebrate the sacraments at the South Shore Parishes, please contact the parish you belong to or hope to have host the sacraments. If you are not already a parishioner and would like to become one, you can check the parish website or contact the parish office.
